Slap comes the mirror, mama.

This might ring a little overdue, but its here nevertheless, better than nothing.

2009 was a significant year, a definitive year. Full of change and plans and future chasing; it was always time to go, time to get changed, time to bid farewell, get over with and move on to. Dotted with crystal moments we'd cherish in more days to come, we are selective in bringing with us the luggage of the past in our purposeful stride into next lapses. Life had branched out again, into choices and paths, yet I've had the benefit of strong bonds; a closer family, beautiful friends and a blooming relationship to boot. Life was a good wheel turning.

But the gist of this post though, is not the recollection of what the past year had been. 2009 had been significant in more ways than one, and in a wayward sense, I have grown. The past year had caused multiple heartaches, overturned principles and strained guts. We leave behind what trails behind, but as we trudge forth it is the lesson that clings. As new days dawn, a look in a mirror is all it takes to let the temper in me shine like a bad omen.

I have grown a temper, and a stubborn need to hold my ground and react, with much sensitivity, when i feel threatened. I watch, unnerved, as I grow steadily and feverishly temperamental, my mornings dosed full of regret and acute disappointment. In my eyes, 2009 has made a monster out of me.

No doubt any defensive mind would think that, after what the year's been, a little more stepping up to any game is necessary. But it is a resolution for the year to come, to beat the vicious urges. Temper has made me very dull.

So hello to the new year.
